Real Estate Porn

July 15, 2010

There are some places that you visit that are so memorable that they touch you in some way.  I am lucky to have visited a few of these such locales in my quarter of a century of life.  Without a doubt, the Hawaiian island of Kauai is one of these destinations for me.  You would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful combination of lush flora, mountains, and water.

Kauai is majestic.  It is referenced in the calming child’s tune Puff the Magic Dragon (“…and frolicked in the Autumn mist in a land called Hanalei…”), used as the setting for adventure and romance in the Harrison Ford/Anne Heche flick Six Days Seven Nights, and served as the primitive and unencumbered backdrop for dinosaurs in Jurassic Park.

I am privileged to have visited this remote and incredible place not once, but twice with my family when I was a teenager.  Without a doubt, it is someplace that I would love to re-visit as an adult…or better yet, maybe I can aspire to buy this house some day, which brings me to today’s featured real estate porn.

At least two or three times a week, I find myself browsing through photos of an incredible property.  Perhaps it’s because I work in real estate or perhaps it’s because I appreciate good design, but I seem to always gravitate to slideshows of outrageously beautiful homes.  Today’s property was located in Kauai and so I couldn’t help but share.  The property is being listed at $8.75 Million.
